Specialized Design Bureau of Marine Geophysical Instrumentation (SKB MGP), which activities are focused in design, engineering and production of geological and geophysical instruments, equipment and marine specialized equipment for prospecting, exploration and development of mineral resources in the World Ocean, geotechnical surveys and geological monitoring in the oceans, on the shelf, in the rivers, lakes and reservoirs, and in extreme shallow waters and transition zones.
Based on the unique long-term experience of Yuzhmorgeologiya in conducting the geological prospecting and exploration on the floor of the World Ocean SKB MGP has developed and manufactured at its production facilities a line of remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) for performance of a set of surveys and measurements at various depths. The vehicles are suitable for both prospecting of the mineral deposits in the World Ocean, and performance of a variety of geotechnical operations. To perform the geological prospecting exploration of the oceanic floor the company is also capable on the basis of the in-house designs to produce the grabs; box, bucket and grab samplers, including those provided with photo and remote monitoring equipment; as well as bottom probing systems.
