Moscow, August 12, 2020 - Specialists of Yuzhmorgeologiya (a subsidiary of RosGeo) started to perform the offshore seismic 3D CDPM surveys at Salmanovo (Morning) subsurface site following the contract with Arctic SPG 2.

Seismic exploration will be carried out till October 2020 in the waters of the Ob Bay along the coast of the Gydan Peninsula and in the transit zone with exit if the acquisition lines to the shore. The anticipated scope of the works is 244 km2.

In the framework of the project RosGeo, using the state-of-art technology, will survey in details the geological structure of the productive and promising formations of Cretaceous and Jurassic sediments within Salmanovo licensed area, that includes the Ob’ Bay, to produced the recommendations regarding the exploratory drilling.

The objective of Yuzhmorgeologiya is to collect the qualitative seismic materials, which will allow the customer to identify the potentially productive intervals (layers), determine the tops and bottoms of these layers, find out and outline the faults, compare the results with the layers Salmanovo deposits in the adjacent onshore areas; assess the petroleum potential of the structures; select and substantiate the places for installation of prospecting and exploration wells; confirm the previously identified promising sites. The interval in occurrence of the productive deposits is 1000-4200 m.

To achieve the specified objctives Yuzhmorgeologiya mobilized to the work area the fleet of 6 ships, including the research vessel "Professor Ryabinkin" of Sevmorneftegeofizika, which will be used as a vessel - source of seismic signal excitation, as well as a pinger ship, a base vessel, and three handling vessels. Specialized small-sized vessels will be used as a source of elastic oscillations to operate in shallow water.
