Moscow, July 27, 2020 - Geophysical quads of Permneftegeofizika (a subsidiary of RosGeo) have completed the 3D CDPM field seismic surveys in East Vishera area in the north of the Perm territory. The purpose of the surveys was a detailed study of the geological structure of the Paleozoic and Devonian sediments to assess and prepare the exploratory drilling in petroleum promising fields. There have been performed 378.1 km2 of 3D seismic surveys in the framework of the contract with a ining company, LLC LUKOIL-Perm.

The field seismic surveys were carried out in the winter season of 2019/2020 and in the summer of 2020 on the territory of Solikamsk and Cherdyn districts of Perm territory under the complex surface conditions. About 30% of the area is swampy, almost 90% is covered with the forest, and the eastern part of the site is complicated by the Kama River valley and its numerous tributaries.

Experts of Permneftegeofizika traditionally conducted the surveys in the area in line with the environment-friendly technology of the seismic survey, known as the "green seismic". Thanks to application of small-sized drilling rigs and low mass explosive sources this technology allows to exclude the forest line cutting in the width of 4-6 m and stump extraction to ensure the passage of heavy machinery. In this case for transportation of the seismic station and equipment the Company used the existing forests cuts, forest roads, and previously surveyed profiles.

In the Kama river waters, in the flooded coastal zone and in shallow water, about 3% of the wells were produced in winter from the ice using the bottom drilling technology. The use of ultra-low-weight charges located in a well at a depth of 4-6 m under the bottom of the water body eliminates the harmful effects on ichthyofauna.

“Production of the seismic surveys in line with environmentally friendly technology allows not only to minimize the impact on the environment, but to significantly reduce the costs of the mining companies to recover the damages to the agriculture and forestry", - said Igor Shumsky, the managing director of Permneftegeofizika.
