Moscow, June 16, 2020 - RosGeo signed a contract for performance of regional seismic surveys in Shelkovskaya are of North-Caucasian oil and gas province in Chechnya and neighboring regions of Dagestan and Stavropol territory. The works will be performed in 2020-2022 at the expense of the federal budget.

The contract envisages the analysis of the retrospective geological and geophysical materials for the surveyed and contiguous areas; conduct of field seismic 2D CDPM operations in the scope of 1400 linear km; performance of processing and integrated interpretation of the completed work results in correlation with the retrospective materials; and assessment of the resource potential.

Despite beginning of systematic geological prospecting for oil and gas in the North and North-East of the Chechen Republic almost 100 years ago - in the 20-s of the XX century, the exploration maturity of Shelkovskaya site in terms of modern seismic methods and parametric drilling remains extremely low.

The results of recent regional surveys in the 80-s of the XX century and integrated geophysical operations performed at three sites in 2012-2016, the complexity of the geological subsurface structure and big depths did not allow to localize the commercially significant volumes of hydrocarbon resources. Against this background the parametric drilling has been practically stopped in the region in recent decades, which significantly limited the growth of the resource base.

The production of regional seismic surveys at the Shelkovskaya site will allow RosGeo to in detail the hydrocarbon potential, identify the promising areas and oil and gas bearing structures, and to determine the location for a deep - up to 7000 m - parametric well.

The application of the advanced seismic techniques enables to substantiate a number of new areas for prospecting of oil and gas deposits, including non-anticline traps, Khadum shale deposits (source of shale oil), deep-seated deposits. Alongside, the application of innovative technologies in processing, interpretation and geological analysis of geological-geophysical and geochemical data (basin modeling, neural network modeling, etc.) will allow to obtain the most reliable data on the resource potential of hydrocarbons.
