“Geology is the most suitable industry for digitalization and big data. Today, we are talking about the need to transfer all geological information into a single digital environment, and Rosnedra has already taken a qualitative step in this direction, emphasized Evgeny Petrov, Acting Head of the Federal Subsurface Management Agency. “That is why we begin the closest cooperation with RosGeo: we will elaborate joint platforms, and discuss the development of a marketplace for the exchange of geological information.”

Dmitry Arakcheev, Director of Russian Geological Foundation, making his presentation at the council, noticed that Russia has great prospects in terms of discovering mineral deposits through the use of artificial intelligence, which will help structure the huge scope of geological information.

The open meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council has demonstrated a high level of interest from companies representing a wide variety of industries. The discussion was attended by representatives of Rosatom, MoscowState University, Sberbank, LUKOIL Engineering, Tatneft, Gazprom Neft, Rostelecom, Yandex, MIG, AGR Software, GridPoint Dynamics, Search Sentrik.
